TAF Is Building A Solid Rep As An Innovative SportPlane Design/Manufacturing Team
While at EAA AirVenture 2014, ANN CEO and Editor-In-Chief, Jim Campbell visits with Mike Blyth, the director for The Airplane Factory (TAF) which produces the line of Sling airplanes. TAF is located in South Africa and produces both kit-built aircraft and factory-completed aircraft. They are a young company, but Blyth discusses production figures that show they are becoming a stable part of the sport plane industry.
Blyth says that TAF is proud to establish itself in the United States. He feels that the U.S. is the general aviation capital of the world and that his products will find a good market here. He also introduces us to the new taildragger version of the Sling-2. While they are still in the test flying phase, he says kits have already been ordered.
Sling produces both the 2-place and 4-place models of their aircraft and are now looking ahead to produce a high-wing airplane. Some of the features on the TAF Sling aircraft are unique to the market, and this video provides an insight into this new and strong company as it gains a foothold in the U.S. market for sport aircraft.
