You don't need a boat of your own to discover West Sweden's fantastic archipelago. The local ferry companies will take you to the most beautiful places where sprayed granite rocks, picturesque fishing villages and classic seafood restaurants are waiting for you.
What’s special about this kind of island hopping is that it’s you who decides how long the trip is going to be and what you want to see. The Bohuslän coast runs almost 280 kilometres up Sweden’s west side, from the city of Gothenburg all the way up to Norway. So there's lots to discover! Off the coast there are 8,000 islands and up until about a century ago the people of the coast and island relied on the humble herring and quarrying rock for a living.
