Three people this week have emailed me asking roughly the same question about three different makes of air gun PCP regulator, including my own. This is a question that I have been asked many times before over the years:
"Why do the first couple of shots vary in power after I have refilled my air gun & I have also noticed this after it has stood for / not used it for sometime".
The answers revolves around the speed the rifle is refilled at from the Scuba Tank / Pump from below the Regulators set operating pressure, in comparison to the Regulators operating speed when the Main Air Reservoir Chamber Is Full. Also the ambient working temperature when stored & used, along with if the rifle is left stood for weeks at a time, when O-rings become tight in the Regulators Piston Bore & Grease / Lubricant can accumulate behind the Piston.
