Did you know that Palpatine absolutely HATED using a Lightsaber?

And he actually had a good reason as to why he disliked them!

You see, Palpatine saw the lightsaber as more of a simple amateur weapon that the Jedi symbolized.
He also thought the Jedi relied too much on their Lightsabers as their main weapon which blinded them in forgetting that anything could be weaponized through the Force!
And Palpatine believed that the Sith didn’t really need lightsabers anymore as any old Jedi or Sith could learn to use a lightsaber but mastering highly effective force lightning was completely something else!
Now it doesn’t mean Palpatine didn’t need to use one cuz he mastered all 7 forms of Lightsaber combat and even had hidden lightsabers in his senate office!
But he did believe his real power came from his Dark Side abilities and not from lightsabers.
