JOB SUMMARY : The Commis I Chef is in charge of preparing a consistent, high-quality culinary product, as well as making ensuring that the hotel's operational criteria are met. Additionally, you will be in charge of helping the CDP and sous chef with the cooking and subsequently making sure that all the stations are clean.

He or she is also in charge of cooking unique dishes or substituting other ingredients, as well as controlling the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters, among other things. Food should be removed from freezer storage and thawed in the refrigerator. It should also be properly portioned, arranged, and garnished.

Commis 1, the highest level, is mentioned. If a Chef de Partie or Demi Chef is not available for a particular activity, the Commis Chef may also fill in.
