Think you know everything about ADHD? Think again!
ADHD is more than fidgeting or acting out. Understanding these subtypes can help you recognize symptoms in your child and find them the support they need.
Here are the three types you need to know:
😴 The first type is inattentive, which we call the “drunken bull.” It means your child may have trouble paying attention, staying organized, and completing tasks. Your child might appear forgetful or easily distracted, or may get lost in thoughts or daydreams, but they’re not necessarily hyperactive or impulsive.
🐮 The second type is hyperactive-impulsive, which we call the “raging bull.” In this type, your child may have a lot of energy and difficulty sitting still. They may act impulsively and have trouble waiting their turn or controlling their emotions.
😴🐮 The third type is a combination of both inattentive and hyperactive-impulsive types that we call the “raging drunken bull.” This is the most common type of ADHD and can present with a range of symptoms.
Remember, each child with ADHD is unique, and symptoms can vary in severity. Be sure to find the right providers for professional guidance.
