I obtained a visual of the vehicle's pursuit as it approached MLK, on East Service Road. The suspect vehicle crossed MLK,
and at that time, I assumed primary and began calling the pursuit, to Troop D dispatch. The suspect traveled east on East
Service Road, then merged onto East Broadway. The suspect vehicle almost lost control as he merged onto East Broadway
but was able to regain control and continue fleeing. The suspect merged onto I-55 southbound and began traveling at speeds
up to 100 M.P.H., weaving in and out of traffic.
The roadway was wet and there were other motorists present in the area. Due
to the nature of the suspect's driving and the roadway conditions, it was very apparent that I needed to attempt a TVI, to end
the vehicle pursuit.
As I moved in for a TVI, the suspect vehicle began brake-checking me, attempting to cause me to crash. As soon as I had an
opportunity, I moved in for a TVI by using the front left of my vehicle, to make contact with the right rear of the suspect vehicle. I
performed a TVI, but it was unsuccessful. The suspect vehicle continued fleeing southbound.
I noticed traffic was stopped just ahead of our location. At that time, I slowed down and backed off, in anticipation of the suspect
vehicle crashing into a civilian vehicle. As the suspect vehicle approached the stopped civilian vehicles, the suspect lost control
and crashed into the back of a civilian, then ran off of the right side of the roadway. The suspect stopped briefly, fled towards
Bridgeport, then fled west on Bridgeport. I noticed Corporal Martin was on Bridgeport, so I notified him on the radio of the
suspect's driving behavior and to use caution. As the suspect approached Corporal Martin, Corporal Martin conducted an
intentional intervention in an effort to end the pursuit. The suspect continued fleeing on Bridgeport under I-55 and then ran off
the roadway and across a field. Several West Memphis Police Officers and I drove across the field as the driver and front seat
passenger exited the truck, fleeing on foot through the field.
Officer Langston with the West Memphis Police Department was
able to apprehend the driver, Christopher McFee, and the front seat passenger, Rebecca Macdonald. The backseat passenger,
Brandi Jaco, was apprehended by members of the West Memphis Police Department.
McFee and Macdonald both had valid felony warrants with full extraditions. The vehicle and the tag, TN BNP0640, that was
on it, both returned stolen. Four firearms were located in the vehicle. A SCCY CPX2 9mm (918798) was fully loaded with 11
rounds (9 Hornady, 1 Federal Cartridge, and 1 PMC) in the firearm. 1 round was in the magazine and one in the chamber. The
SCCY was found in the front passenger floorboard and was also reported stolen. A Colt Series 80 Gold Cup chambered in .45
ACP (FN07900) was located in the front driver compartment of the vehicle. This weapon was loaded with 7 rounds of
Remington ammunition in the magazine and one round in the chamber. A Steyr Mod. GB 9mm (P06420) was located in the
front driver compartment of the vehicle. This weapon was not loaded. A Daisy model 2203 (AC0016282) chambered-in .22
Long Rifle was located in the back seat. McFee and McDonald both showed to be convicted felons.
Approximately 73 grams of a crystal substance that field tested positive for the presence of Methamphetamine was located in
the front seat of the vehicle. There were also multiple glass pipes used for smoking meth and a set of digital scales were
located with the suspected Methamphetamine. Multiple boxes of 9mm, .45 ACP, and 12 Gauge ammunition were located in a
bag in the back seat of the vehicle.
McFee and Jaco were both transported to Regional One in Memphis for medical treatment. The vehicle was inventoried and
then towed by Clark Towing for safekeeping.
Upon further investigation, we discovered that there were upwards of 20 active investigations pending across Mississippi,
Tennessee, and Arkansas for various thefts. The Shelby County Sheriff's Office came to Arkansas to conduct interviews, which
led them to an address on Dover Road in West Memphis. A search at this address by members of the West Memphis Police
Department and the Shelby County Sheriff's Office located two more confirmed stolen vehicles, a possible stolen trailer, at least
one more firearm, a considerable amount of ammunition were all located, and an assortment of power tools that are believed to
be stolen.
