The DeArmond FHC "Guitar Mic" electric pickup with its monkey-on-a-stick format makes this guitar into an alternate ES-125, really. In '52 the L-48 was an all-ply (hog top, maple back/sides), full-depth archtop meant as an acoustic, however. This guy got brace reglues, a fret level/dress, and some fuss with the wiring to get it up to snuff. Now it positively stinks of vintage jazz/swing fumes...
