2. SOUNDBITE (English) Wayne Jones, son of shooting victim Celestine Chaney:
"I just thanked him for coming and being with us during this tragic time. And just, you know, just thank you, you know, he didn't have to come here. He could have said what he wanted to say from Washington. But he came to be with us. And I appreciate it."

3. SOUNDBITE (English) Wayne Jones, son of shooting victim Celestine Chaney:
"We talked about gun control. How he's trying to get the guns, the assault weapons banned. But, you know, Congress, can't get it passed through Congress. And the stop, the hate and the Internet is are fueling these people to do these things. The guy is young, 18, what does he know about being replaced. He ain't even started yet. So we just talked about that. And the enemies created these people. And the people keep pushing this narrative about replacement and no one's being replaced. It was just sad that this had to happen."

4. SOUNDBITE (English) Wayne Jones, son of shooting victim Celestine Chaney:
"But as we all know, we have a Congress and we have laws. And things have to go a certain way. So if we can't get enough votes in the Senate, then it'll just be like it is for the next... And people are making money, like he said, people are making money off this hate and the speech and the rhetoric and the news channels that just go ballistic with the hate. You know what I mean? So the money is being pumped, and until you get the money out of it, it's gonna be hard. And it's a lot of money getting made off of guns. Gun purchases, like who needs a AR15? There's not a hunting rifle. Only thing you hunt with AR15s is people."

5. SOUNDBITE (English) Wayne Jones, son of shooting victim Celestine Chaney:
"We need to stop bickering back and forth, Republicans and Democrats, and get to work. You're up there to work, not to argue and fight. You need to work and work it out. You know, everybody on each side and just stays. But how are we going to get anything figured if if I stand on my side and you stand on your side and then we don't budge? We have to have some middle ground with this. We have to come to some kind of consensus. No, you can't just because your constituents -- you know, maybe you need to go talk to your constituents and tell them this is what we're going to do. Or aske them could we do this and work with them? But they have to work together."

6. SOUNDBITE (English) Wayne Jones, son of shooting victim Celestine Chaney:
"She would just say, stop to hate and love one another. And so she would have said, stop the hate."

STORYLINE:
U.S. President Joe Biden mourned with Buffalo's grieving families on Tuesday, then exhorted the nation to reject what he angrily labeled the poison of white supremacy.
Speaking to victims' families, local officials and first responders, Biden said America's diversity is its strength, and warned that the nation must not be be distorted by a "hateful minority."
Wayne Jones, whose mother Celestine Chaney was killed in the attack, said he appreciated President Biden taking the time to meet with families, but he's not optimistic anything will be accomplished in Washington without an end to partisan division.
He said he thinks more should be done to prevent online hate speech.
Jones said his mother would have told the president to "stop the hate and love one another."
