The following commands are prefixed with three letters which represent the settings of the command block. E.g IUN: = Impulse Unconditional Needs_Redstone. These prefixes need to be removed if copying the commands.

Commands used:

Give:
IUN: give @p trident{lightning:true}

Controller:
RUA: execute as @e[type=trident,tag=!hit,nbt={DealtDamage:true,Trident:{tag:{lightning:true}}}] at @s summon lightning_bolt run tag @e[type=trident,limit=1,distance=..0.1] add hit
