The pandemic disrupted the way in which the world learned. Traditionally, education has been conducted in the classroom, but in 2020, millions and millions of students and teachers found themselves having to adapt to the new world of online, and it wasn't easy.
Now, years after the pandemic first began, we set our sights to the future. In this session, BigBlueButton Co-Founder, Fred Dixon, discusses his vision for education's future for virtual classes.

-----ABOUT BIGBLUEBUTTONWORLD 2022-----
Hope Through Education was the theme for BigBlueButtonWorld 2022, an annual virtual global conference which aimed to showcase the importance of education and educators, explore how education is shifting in the online environment, share examples of how education is raising communities (and countries), and host discussions about the future of virtual classrooms.
BigBlueButton's vision is to improve education for everyone. We are working towards that vision by creating the next generation of virtual classrooms using BigBlueButton, and, as we've done for 14 years, making it freely available to everyone in the world under an open source license.
Day 1 of the conference included speakers from organizations like UNESCO, EDEN and DLC, and educators from around the world shared stories that epitomized the impact and passion these professionals have. Representatives from leading educational research institutions also shared their thoughts on the future of online learning and how we can move forward.
Day 2, 3 and 4 of the conference focused on Development, Administration and Ecosystem, which highlighted a variety of impactful work that's being done within the BigBlueButton community, and how these improvements (and integrations) are helping to further our goal of becoming a next-generation virtual classroom for online learning.
