A French Court on Friday (05/06) threw out on technical grounds a demand by a group of European lawmakers to redistribute thousands of World Cup tickets. The MEPs claimed that over 700,000 tickets were unfairly allocated in favour of French fans. The court said it could not
rule in the case on legal grounds.

SOT Luc Misson, Belgain lawyer hired by European parliament (in French): "By principle the access of the world cup is not accessable for everyone. And there is where the mistake is made.";
SOT Graham Watson, Euro MP for Britain, man with glasses and tie (in English): "The situation here is that we are one-nil down at half time. But the court have awarded us a penalty kick they have said clearly that the French World Cup organisers were wrong to restrict access to the tickets in the way they did. And they have opened the way for any fans who were denied access to tickets to take the French organisers to court for damages.
