How to make Vegan wax cloth wraps, steaming from my new years resolution to go low waste.
A perfect way to get rid of foil from your grocery shop considering wax cloth wraps are reusable
You will need [Makes 6 sandwich sized wraps];
1 Meter of cotton cloth [ Pattern of your choice],
3 Cups soy wax,
50ml Jojoba oil OR Grape seed oil,
baking parchment,
Baking tray,
Pan,
Scissors,
Paint brush,
Wooden mixing tools
Directions:
1. Cut cloth to size
2. Preheat oven to 150 degrees
3. Heat your soy wax and grape seed oil together in a pan til melted. [Takes like 2 mins]
4. Lining the baking tray with baking parchment to help avoid wax getting all over your tray, evenly coat the melted wax mix with your paintbrush.
5. Put in oven for 5 mins.
6. Hang up to drop dry for 5 mins.
7. Repeat til all 6 wax cloth wraps are made.
Link to the material I used (Takes a while to arrive as didnt realise it was coming from China):
Go to your local market for local cloths is my advise.
