A few days ago we had flash flooding in Pennsylvania, so I figured what better way to test out my newly arrived Baofeng UV-9R against my trusted Yaesu VX-6R.
Fellow comms friend who still rocks the Baofeng told me about this newer model of the radio that claims to be waterproof (IP67). He loves it and hasnt had any issues with it so I figured for $50 (they are actually $30 on Amazon; but I got the one with more accessories) it was worth a shot.
So let's find out if it is waterproof or not...
Disclaimer: I am not knocking the Baofeng. I started out with the BF-F8HP and I still have both of those but if you want a rugged, well-built radio you can depend on then please look into Yaesu, Icom, Kenwood and Motorola. You will not be disappointed.
Also, the Baofeng was purchased with my own money. I was NOT given it to review or anything.
