A sinkhole has just appeared on the public search field of Arkansas' Crater of Diamonds State Park. This is the first time I have ever known of this occurring here. The park is still figuring out what they are going to do about it. In the meantime, they have barricaded the area around the hole.
What is a sinkhole? The definition is, "A natural depression in a land surface communicating with a subterranean passage, generally occurring in limestone regions and formed by solution or by collapse of a cavern roof." That appears to be what has happened here. We will know more when they get some heavy equipment in to dig in this area.
