Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) transfer modes recorded in slow motion for the development of a smart monitoring system for robotic welding. This system monitors the changes in transfer modes in real time using the recorded sound signal. By monitoring these changes, information regarding porosity, burn through and penetration depth can be extracted.
