NY Brogue, featuring the 2007 Glenfiddich Scottish Fiddle Champion Calum Pasqua, performs at "Tartan Day at the South Street Seaport." Held on March 30, 2013, the event officially launched the 2013 NY Tartan Week celebrations. See: www.tartandayonellisisland.com for complete details.
Produced by the Clan Currie Society and sponsored in part by the National Trust for Scotland Foundation - USA and NY Water Taxi, the 2013 program marked the 12th annual observance of Tartan Day by Clan Currie.
In addition to Pasqua, performers included the Rampant Lion Pipe Band, the NYC Harp Orchestra, John the Kilted Juggler, and the NY Celtic Dancers. The event drew a crowd estimated at over 5 thousand. The Seaport experienced its largest turnout since Hurricane Sandy battered the site on October 29, 2012.
