How much does Facebook know about its users? BNC’s Kelly Wright says the answer is probably more than users realize, and it’s all based on algorithms.
These algorithms can be dangerous in a sense as they are creating racial biases. BNC correspondent Anser Hassan says Facebook’s business model is to collect and extract as much information from users as they can and from there, they generate ads. Facebook monitors every click and like, and algorithms aggravate the data, which is then sold. In a clip aired on “The World Tonight,” Emily Peterson-Cassin said this is why the whistleblower is important, to expose such documents and practices.
All this and more on “The World Tonight.”
