Having experimented a lot with tooling, tool posts, etc. on my latest restored ML7 and with simplicity in mind, I thought I would be able to make use of the same 16mm tooling as on my bigger IZH1i611P lathe so made a couple of variants of a block-type tool posts. This is seemingly a sturdier setup than using the top slide and unless threading or turning long tapers, I have adopted these for my general "front" turning on the Myford(s). I have also made a block for rear-mounted tools, for example parting off, but cannot see that this really needed. Additionally, I made arrangements for using the same 16mm tooling with the top-slide, having the shanks clamped to the platform. I will show the use of this and some threading examples and other turning in later videos. The video here also shows the difference it makes having access to back-gears (low speed with more torque)..
