Haldighati a mountain pass between Khamnore and Bagicha village situated at Aravalli Range of Rajasthan. haldighati pass is located at a distance of 40 Km from Udaipur, 50 Km from famous Kumbhalgarh fort, and just 20 km from Nathdwara.
'Haldighati's name is believed to have originated from the turmeric-color yellow soil of the area.
There are couple of spots to visit, starting with Haldighati museum this place Exhibits and also has a light and sound show about Maharana Pratap & the Battle of Haldighati, video recording is allowed inside the premises.
Here is Chetak's Samadhi - the beloved horse of Maharana Pratap, lost his life while trying to save the king. There is a cenotaph built in pure white marble, dedicated to Chetak
Maharana pratap smarak built on the hilltop near to the musuem, In 1997, the Government of India proposed and constructed the Maharana Pratap National Memorial, and it is today dedicated to the spirit and valor of the Rajput King. The memorial, a cenotaph with white marble columns, displays a bronze statue of the Maharana riding Chetak.
Rakta Talai (Pool of Blood) is the last spot where the second half of the battle of Haldighati was fought between Maharana Pratap and the Mughals. As a result, thousands of soldiers died on both sides and their blood flowed to such an extent that it formed a pool.
Besides the battle, Haldighati is known around the world for its charity rose products like gulkand (a sweet jam-like preparation made from rose petals and mud art.
