In US news and current events today, protesters in Minneapolis, Minnesota, clashed with police after the death of George Floyd. George Floyd, a 46-year-old Black man from Minnesota, died on May 25. Footage showed a Minneapolis police officer kneeling on his neck for approximately 9 minutes while he was handcuffed on the ground. George Floyd died shortly thereafter.
The citywide protests demanding justice for George Floyd were attended by thousands of people. They reportedly started peacefully.
