[ Ссылка ] I ran out of factory ammunition for my .223 Rem Tikka M595. Tikka is my main roe deer stalking rifle and it shoots well with factory Sako 55gr soft point ammo. I decided to develop similar load using Sierra GameKing 55gr SP bullets hoping it would be as accurate as Sako and perform well on roe deer. It should also be no more than half the price in a long run...
I used CCI400 small rifle primers and Vihtavuori N130 powder as well as once fired Sako brass.
I measured COAL of Sako ammo to ogive and used this value as my target COAL for reloads. I made up 5 different loads starting from 20gr to 23gr, 5 rounds each load and tested them (part 2 coming in soon).
This time I used Lee press, dies and RCBS scales to weigh each load to show you moaners I don't always use scoops and hammer for hand loading :-)
