Premier Doug Ford urges everyone who was at Trinity Bellwoods park on Saturday when it was packed to “go get tested.” Thousands packed the Toronto park to enjoy the beautiful weather, ignoring the physical distancing rules.
“I’m disappointed to say the least with everyone that showed up at Trinity Bellwoods on Saturday,” Ford told reporters at his daily briefing, adding that he went by Sunday and didn’t see many people.
“My recommendation to anyone at Trinity Bellwoods: Why don’t you do us all a favour and go get tested now.”
He criticized those park-goers for being “reckless” saying he was surprised because there are many smart, young people in the city.
Asked if Mayor John Tory, who visited the park Saturday evening, should get tested, Ford said: “That’s up to the mayor. He’s been working hard, day in and day out. Every single day.”
