Whew, making this 14th Century Kirtle was an adventure! I did my best to do Herjolfsnes 38 and do any other medieval cote / cotehardie I had info on justice! It’s definitely not historically accurate or a historical reconstruction, but I am thrilled with the result!
I also loved incorporating aspects of my queer identity! As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, it’s important to me to be open about who I am because before I was out, I felt the people I saw being unapologetically themselves gave me permission to do the same! 😊
