The Icon of Sin. The Dark One, the Final Boss, and the Devourer of Worlds.
Theme suites made by Star Wars Jibaro inspired me a lot in the making of this, which was originally just an extended cut of the Icon of Sin. The way this suite is constructed as well as the thumbnail were based on how his videos were made and the thumbnails, notably from his KOTM theme videos. If you hadn’t seen them yet, I would recommend you to check them out!
Taking that aside, what I love about this track is that unlike most combat tracks which could as well be Slayer's theme adjusted to the situation, this one is completely different. Unlike a rapid fire metal soundtrack, this is a theme with more of a focus on choir and sinister music. You can really feel the instinctual almost animalistic fear and power given off by the chants and the overall feel of this track. You are literally fighting a being beyond human comprehension, a mobile instrument of hellish chaos who holds the power to consume an entire universe, and creating a super-massive black hole which will draw all of existence into Hell to be corrupted by merely existing in it. Its truly dedicated to the Icon of Sin, which in DOOM Eternal is the only worthy opponent of the Slayer in this game to have its own fully dedicated theme. Mick Gordon, the composer of DOOM Eternal's soundtrack, is a master of his craft.
Tracks used in this custom suite:
