The knowledge of critical turbine parts is of crucial importance when it comes to finalization.
Together with AV&R, a specialist for automated surface finishing processes in the field of turbine engine manufacturing, we helped to optimize the sanding process of high-tech blades.
This Video shows our advanced compliant belt sander, powered by FerRobotics Active Compliant Technology®, with a response time perfectly matched to this application. It is a station in the robotics system BXF 500 from AV&R that is able to process parts between 200 and 500 mm.
On this customized FerRobotics ABG belt grinder, the pressing force and belt speed can be controlled independently. The combination of variable force control and belt speed optimizes the surface finishing of all materials and saves work steps. AV&R has also knowledge in medical Hip STEM implant polishing where this system is delivering outstanding results.
Even when changing the sanding belt, there is no need for readjustment. The intuitive flexibility of the system facilitates the creation of the application and reduces costs. AV&R measured that all stations together were able to achieve a total of up to 75% less consumption of abrasives – another promising source to save costs.
As a sensitive-active belt grinder, the ABG is the customized solution for grinding, polishing and de-burring.
