Williams and Addison were on point all night. And that duo proved vital to No. 10 USC's 41-28 victory. Williams' assault on Stanford's defense was unceasing. The Oklahoma transfer dotted the ball all across the field as he racked up 341 yards and four touchdowns passing for the game. However, the defense is a mess but continued to make enough plays to smooth the path for the Trojans during games.
Williams showed his skill with USC offense by checking out of a play in the 2nd, changing the call at the line to prevent an oncoming Stanford blitz. The result was a wide-open running lane for Travis Dye, who went 27 yards untouched. When asked of the play, Williams credited the heads-up call to Riley, who bashfully gave credit back to the quarterback. You can tell these 2 work well together.
As for Stanford, watch out for EJ Smith, son of previous NFL player Emmitt Smith, as he routed a 87-yard touchdown during his first game during Colgate. That tied Nathaniel Peat for the fifth-longest touchdown run in the program. Smith’s previous career high was 54 yards rushing against Utah last season. Smith added another 37 yards receiving. Make sure you are keeping an eye out for him this upcoming season.
