STORYLINE:
'THE KITE RUNNER' OPENS ON BROADWAY
Stars attended the opening of "The Kite Runner" on Broadway Thursday (21JULY2022) at The Hayes Theater.
Laverne Cox, Shohreh Aghdashloo, George Takei and William Jackson Harper were among those who went to support the show.
The play, based on Afghan-American writer Khaled Hosseini's best-selling 2003 novel and adapted by Matthew Spangler, landed on the Great White Way following two successful seasons in London's West End.
The acclaimed novel tells the story of two boys and how their friendship is transformed after an act of violence. The story starts begins in the 1970s in Afghanistan, a divided country on the verge of war, with two boys, and a betrayal that will forever change the course of their lives.
The Broadway version stars Amir Arison and Faran Tahir and it runs for 17 weeks.
