Corneal Dystrophies are inherited disorders and have no associated systemic disease. Medical students will learn a range of such dystrophies associated with Corneal Diseases here. Some are degenerative whereas, some are caused by gene Mutations. Initially, Epithelial and Subepithelial Dystrophies are studied. One of them is EBMD, an acronym of Epithelial Basement Membrane Dystrophy. Whereas, the other type discussed is the epithelial recurrent erosion dystrophy.
