It was an explosion inside a container on a ship docked at Jebel Ali Port in Dubai late Wednesday evening, authorities said.
The explosion caused a large fire that was felt throughout the city.
“It is reported that a fire broke out in a container on a ship anchored in the Jebel Ali port. The Dubai Civil Defense Group is working to extinguish it, ”the Dubai press service said in its official account.
No fatalities or injuries have been reported and the fire is under control.
According to local residents, they heard and felt the explosion, from which the buildings trembled, just 20 kilometers from the port.
The video shows a large fireball erupting from the port, illuminating the night sky.
Jebel Ali is the ninth largest port in the world and the largest port in the region.
