A film about the efforts to understand and reduce the spread of zoonotic diseases, such as Ebola and Covid-19. And maybe stop the next Pandemic from happening.
We follow Clovice Kankya, head of department of biosecurity at @Makerere University and his colleges as they travel to remote villages in Uganda. Dr Kankya is supported by Norway though the NORHED research program. The village Nakasongola has suffered from zoonotic diseases due to animals, and now dr Kankya and his team work to prevent diseases from spreading between animals and humans.
We learn that 60 % of the human infectious diseases are caused by animals. Devastating diseases, which could have been prevented by simple measures. The veterinarians will conduct workshops and interviews with farmers and villagers and take blood samples from animals, which will be tested at the lab at Makerere University.
