The Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs encourage owners of classic bikes, cars and commercial vehicles to participate in this annual event which was created in 2005 where yesterdays vehicles are supporting todays children by raising funds for the NSPCC Child Line through the purchase of a Drive It Day fund raising vehicle display plate.
Our journey starts outside the Redbeck Motel near Wakefield where members of the Unofficial Yorkshire Classic Cars Facebook group were meeting before driving in convoy to our official starting point close to York Racecourse. There we would join the York Historic Vehicle Group (YHVG) who were responsible for organising the event in this area before departing for Sherburn Aero Club.
