Apple Kaju Katri is made from powdered cashew nuts and then cooked in sugar syrup. The mixture is then shaped into an apple and a clove is put on it to look like a stem and a pistachio is put on it to present a leaf. They are colored using red food color to make it like apple. You can also make in other shapes like watermelon, lotus, orange, strawberry etc.

1/3 cup saffron water
1/2 cup sugar
pinch of cardamom powder
1 tsp clarified butter(ghee) + 1 tbsp for greasing
pinch of red food color
1 tbsp water to dissolve food color
cloves and pistachios for making stem/leaf
