A Texas family of five barely made it out of their car alive on Tuesday after they got stuck on a railroad crossing moments before a train barreled into their vehicle.
Shocking video footage shared to social media shows a mother and daughter frantically running hand in hand away from a Union Pacific train that was speeding toward their car in Forney, a suburb about 20 miles east of Dallas.
A third person can also be seen in the clip exiting the vehicle, barely getting out of the way before the train crashes through the SUV.
Forney police said in a statement that the accident took place at approximately 4:35 p.m. Tuesday.
“A vehicle was struck by a train in downtown Forney. The train is blocking the downtown crossings, however 548 crossing is open,” police said.
