Native of South East Asia, Sweet Carambola goes well in a fruit plantation or as an item of landscaping on account of its attractive scent, multiple seasons of flowering and the charming colour of flowers. Fruits grow on the main trunk and the lateral branches. They are yellow in colour, will have well defined ridges and the skin glazing like wax. Its cross section will have the shape of a star. Fruits can be consumed as such or can be used for juicing. Partially shade tolerant, this tree yields to intercropping and the growth is rather fast. Ideal planting distance 20 feet between two plants.
