Twice a year the shadow of a Mountain Lion forms on the Superstition Mountains in Arizona. The best viewing is at the Spring and Fall Equinox, but can be viewed a week before and after each Equinox. The shadow starts to form about thirty minutes before sunset. To view the shadow take the US-60 East and exit at Goldfield Rd in Apache Junction. Drive North on Goldfield Rd to Superstition Blvd. Find a safe place to pull off the road either on Goldfield Rd or after turning East on Superstition Blvd. Other people will be there to view the shadow so please be considerate and not block anyone's view.
