In this video I work through the process of building a Wicker Bill to fit on my 2002 E39 M5. This car has undergone a transformation into a track only racer. For this project I used 1/4” Lexan readily found at Home Depot or Lowes. I had this sheet left over from cutting a windshield for my Can Am. I used adjustable splitter rods from Amazon mounted with rivnuts in the trunk sheet metal. On the rear I cut up pieces from the sheet metal removed from the hood to fit my louvers. I bent this sheet metal to the shape of the upper trunk lid and drilled holes to mount again into rivnuts. The Lexan was sanded with 320 grit to give it an opaque look. If you notice at the end of the video there's a small crack on the passenger side. I think the washers I used were too small and caused a stress crack. I replaced those with larger washers on both sides and will test it as is and report with another video down the road.
