After you get rid of Nappa, it`s time for his boss. Vegeta is a more aggressive opponent than his servant but with the right strategy can be easily dealt with.

Luckily, Goku has his Kaioken energy charge which you can activate by pressing both triggers and selecting Kaioken. This will greatly increase Goku`s speed and attack power, but it is not recommended to use this at the start of the fight. It would be wise to save it if for example, if Vegeta gains the upper hand in the fight.

Alternatively, you can regulary charge up Goku once the tension meter is full. If you hit Vegeta enough times in this state, Goku will send him flying through the valley. As always, follow up this attack at the end.

Besides from basic melee attacks, he sometimes uses a swing kick with an extended range, which you can easily teleport away from.

Another basic energy attack are these slices of energy he fires off. As long as you keep some distance, it should be easy to evade. But even from close range it`s not impossible. It`s not recommended blocking this, as it will deal quite some damage.

When you are nearly through his first health bar, Vegeta will charge his Galic Gun. The game prompts you to fly to him as soon as possible and Melee-Attack him to intervene . If you are too far away, the game will automatically teleport you there. Once Vegeta is down, quickly follow up the attack.

From this part on, he will start using more energy attacks. The next time he uses his Galic Gun you can either dash out of the way, or counter with a Kamehameha. If you use a Kamehameha, this will trigger a showdown. Spam the KI-energy button as fast as you can to overpower Vegeta and deal some considerable damage.

He will also frequently unleash this flurry of KI-blasts. Fly to either side to evade them. He will conclude this attack with a large blast, which – if you are not too close – should be easy to evade. If you are too close – block the attacks. They will only deal a fraction of the damage they would normally inflict. If you can – still try to dash away from the bigger, slower blast at the end.

Furthermore, he might teleport in a zig-zag path towards you and power attack you at the end. He sometimes will appear behind you as well at the end. This can be tricky but it is recommended to dodge him.

Halfway through the fight, Vegeta will burst out in a rage. The view will switch to the top-down perspective and he will try to bash into you. Try to evade him by sidestepping, or block the attack once you see him flying towards you. If you don`t block him this will result in a mean chain of difficult to counter power attacks – so really try to get this right.

He will be a bit more aggressive from this part on, but by applying the same tactics as mentioned earlier, the fight can be easily concluded.

In the second fight, Vegeta will transform into his Great Ape form. Although it looks intimidating, a few good hits and the next cutscene will trigger. A bit later once you have control of Gohan again, you are expected to finish Vegeta off. He should not pose a threat anymore with his low health. It`s finally time to send this invader back from where he came.
