Leaving the water birds of The Serpentine, we follow the tree-lined trail of a pony trek, watched by air-conditioned traffic cruising up West Carriage Drive. We make a left, then drift past the fountains of the Italian Gardens reflecting the azure summer sky. The large trees of Hyde Park hide us from the bustle of Bayswater Road on our way to Kensington Palace. We make our way through the other visitors weaving under the canopy of the Sunken Garden to glimpse the new Princess Diana statue. We leave the social life of the Palace Cafe and head for the gates where tributes are being paid to honor Diana's 60th birthday, before wandering through the wildflowers in front of the Palace | #LondonWalking #PrincessDianaStatue |
