It is said that the London Underground is used by around 2 million people every day. But in doing so, it is easy to forget what's happening above ground.
So for this video I walk the entire Waterloo & City line from start to finish. Granted, there are only two stops on the whole line, but this is essentially a demo/test. Depending on how it's received I may well walk other lines in their entirety too, albeit in segments. Leave a like/comment if you'd like to see that happen!
Originally opening to the public back in 1898, the Waterloo & City Line typically serves commuters in the finance industry coming in from west/southwest of the capital, e.g. Surrey, into Waterloo Station, where it effectively serves as a conduit straight into the City of London. Being as such, it is closed on Sundays (and at the time of writing, closed entirely until further notice due to covid. One more reason to walk it instead!)
Please note that I chose what I believe to be the most scenic route for this particular walk. It would be possible to shave a few minutes off with a more direct route, but it would come at the expensive of skipping South Bank!
