Hong Kong is being overwhelmed by an "onslaught" of COVID infections as a fifth wave of the virus pushes the city's capacity to its limits.

Daily infections have multiplied 13 times over the past two weeks.

Some patients have been forced to wait in alleyways and car parks to be treated, with hospitals struggling to cope with the record case numbers.
