"Brasileirinho" is one of the most well known brazilian songs, composed in 1947 by Waldyr Azevedo. History tell us that Waldyr was at his home when a friend bought a small child during a visit, so to distract the child he began to improvise a song that eventually turned out to be "Brasileirinho". The first recording was released in 1949, and it is the one present in this video.
This musical rhytm is called "choro". Waldyr Azevedo (1923 - 1980) was a pioneer who removed the cavaquinho from its role as a mere accompanist in choro and placed it in prominence as a solo instrument, exploring the instrument's potential in an unprecedented way.
