It's the final day of the holiday and, sadly, it's time to head home. We started the journey way too early at 5am, with plans to stop off somewhere new, to explore and find something delicious to eat. It's all went well until we were 3 hours into our journey, where the rain cloud started to roll in, and pretty soon after, it started raining non-stop.
It got progressively worse as we continued North, the visibility was poor and, because the truck is rear wheel drive, there were times where it fishtail slightly, which made the drive even more difficult. Luckily the rain decided to stop, right at the halfway point, just outside of Kampangphet city centre, where we could stop and grab some noodles. It continued to be rain free to our coffee stop, just outside of Tak, where we had some Chinese bun stuffed with black bean paste and freshly roasted coffee.
As we continued the journey, the rain caught up to us, not as bad as before, but it followed us all the way to Chiang Mai. The journey took over 10 hours and we were both exhausted that we headed straight home, where we were reunited with our pet bird, Norbert.
