STORYLINE:
A second detatchment of Britain's elite Royal Marines have landed in Afghanistan - part of Britain's first overseas combat deployment since the Gulf War a decade ago.
A total of 110 marines from the force's 45 Commando arrived at Bagram airbase in the early hours of Wednesday.
The Royal Marines are trained in mountain warfare and will join the US-led coalition hunting pockets of al-Qaida and Taliban fighters still holding out in mountain areas.
The troops will spend about two weeks training and getting used to the altitude at Bagram before joining any combat operations, British officials said.
