Trading under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCTA) started in earnest on 1 January 2021. Ghana will have a counterpart in Kenya to transfer funds in Ghanaian CD to Kenyan Shillngs. There are complications and costs relating to currencies that will be taken into considerations. Trade finance facility needs to raise R1 billion to enable trading on the African continent for women and young people to grow their businesses. The modalities will be announced soon. AfCTA will be commercially viable. Connectivity will also be expanded to enable to access enablement of acceleration of intercontinental trade to reduce trade barriers.
