This video serves as a brief, though quite comprehensive guide on the EX stage of the Confluence of Nothingness, Azur Lane's currently active event, which featured a limited ultra-rare character, Bismarck Zwei. We are going to be covering the basic strategies that has to be utilized in order to minimize the incoming damage and this ensure the successfull completion of that stage, as well as taking a look at the bosses' moving patterns, their armour type and so on. In addition to that, the most preferable pieces of equipment, able to effectively penetrate the Bismarcks armour, will also be covered along with the preferable ship types. To summarize, the guide has everything that a potential viewer has to know to beat the EX stage without too much issues.
While the preferable equipment was covered in the video itself, the fleet composition is also worth mentioned due to its complexity. Because the boss has heavy armour type, both battleships and heavy aircraft carriers can be a viable choice against them, although the latter will almost always out-perform the former, so most of the backline is recommended to consist of the carriers. Shinano and Hakuryuu were chosen due to their absurdly high DPS output, though they can be substituted with almost every other good ship of this class, for example, Chkalov, Ark Royal, Theseus or Enterpise. In case you want to ensure that every projectile will hit the boss, one of the carriers can be replaced with ships that have slowing capabilities, for example, Implacable, aforementioned Ark Royal or August von Parseval. The choice of a battleship, on the other hand, does not have as much variety, because its only purpose is to eliminate the Dragon as soon as possible and then support the carriers with fire on the Bismarck. Hence, the mose effective ships would be those that have a good barrage and a high base firepower stat: Musashi, New Jersey, Friedrich der Grosse, Georgia, Ulrich von Hutten.
Vanguard, on the other hand, should consist of a buffer, a tank and a spare slot. I've gone for Shimakaze just to ensure that the boss would suffer enough damage to sunk, though, if it's not needed in your case, you can go for Kazagumo, Yuugire, Plymouth or even Helena META. As for the regular Helena, her role is to obviously increase all damage output, while Ägir is just a good tank, which is replaceble with Anchorage, Azuma, Kronshtadt or almost every other large or heavy cruiser in general. Of course, due to the boss mostly standing still, a DPS frontline can be utilized, which may allow the player to clear this stage a lot faster and easier, though I would not recommend a statistically average player to try this strategy.
it should be noted that evasion mechanics do not work in the EX mode, making Improved Hydraulic Rudder and other auxiliary equipment of the same purpose completely useless. Therefore, your Vanguard must use items that give them more HP or/and those, which increase the fleet's overall movement speed, which can be considered as one of the most important things in this gamemode. As you'll see during the equipment reveal, Little Beaver Squadron Tag is an indescribably wonderful way to increase the mobility of the Vanguard line. And if you want to get as much points as possible, minimize the amount of equipment used.
Hope this was helpful!
