In this calculus video of applications of derivatives, we explain how to use a position function to describe the motion of a particle along a line. We work examples of finding the velocity function, identifying intervals of time on which the particle is moving to the left or right, finding the acceleration function, and determining when the particle is speeding up or slowing down.
