Callie Brunett, 35, who was found deceased inside of her Loranger, Louisianna home last week in a case that spawned a two-state manhunt and ended with the death of one of her two young children, died of "multiple sharp force injuries," according to Tangipahoa Parish Coroner Rick Foster.
The coroner said that Brunett had multiple stab wounds to the head, neck, chest and back.
Brunett's death and the disappearance of her car and two young children led to a desperate search that ended tragically in Jackson, Mississippi with the death of her young daughter Erin. Her other child was found alive.
Daniel Callihan and an accomplice, Victoria Cox, have been arrested and booked with sexual battery and capital murder in the case.
