An interesting camera, featuring a 50mm F2.8 Meyer Optik Görlitz Domiplan.
This camera was in production from 1951-1956, made by the East German company, Ihagee Kamerawerk Steenbergen & Co, Dresden.
A fun fact about it’s name is that originally it was called the Exakta Varex, but due to copyright issues in America, the name for this camera is the Exakta VX.
Furthermore this camera specifically shows in print on the bottom “U.S.S.R. Occupied”, though I have no further information on what this means or how it came to be on the camera.
The film stock id been shooting was Fujifilm 200, a simple film to test the camera and see if it works, which I’m very pleased to see that it does, though the white dots you see on the photos have an undiscovered origin. I’m not sure why the dots are there but I kind of like them on some shots and I think it can add to the photo.
