VRUUMM é um grupo de São Paulo criado em 2013 pelo saxofonista Anderson Quevedo, que explora a fusão de estilos musicais e estéticos com o objetivo de subverter a visão tradicional que se tem da música instrumental. A banda tem referências que vão do jazz, rock e aos ritmos africanos, além da cultura cosmopolita paulistana, em especial a arte urbana ligada ao hip-hop e ao skate.
Em sua formação, o grupo conta com músicos experientes e inseridos na cena musical brasileira. Além de compositor, fundador, saxofonista e flautista da banda, Anderson trabalha com artistas como Criolo, Bixiga 70, Otto, Emicida e Trupe Chá de Boldo. Completando o time, VRUUMM ainda é composto por membros das bandas Mel Azul, Garotas Suecas, Projeto Coisa Fina e FingerFingerrr.
No começo de 2015 a banda gravou seu disco de estreia no Estúdio El Rocha em São Paulo e levou para o produtor inglês Nick Graham Smith cuidar da mixagem e da masterização, onde todo o processo foi feito de forma analógica. O dinheiro necessário na prensagem do disco físico foi levantado através de um evento organizado pelos próprios músicos desde fevereiro desse ano, o "VRUUMM Aid" - uma espécie de ensaio aberto misturado a estratégia de captação de recursos. A banda toca religiosamente uma vez por mês nos fundos de uma loja no coração da Vila Madalena, sempre com os portões abertos para incentivar curiosos a conhecer o seu trabalho. Com a entrada gratuita, o dinheiro recebido na venda de cervejas, camisetas e adesivos, foi somado à campanha de financiamento coletivo
